Melissa and Greg – One Year Later
April 28, 2014I’ll admit – becoming a wedding planner has been a lifelong dream. As a little girl I would dress up as a bride and bribe my older sister to be my “groom.” I was given a My-Size Bride Barbie doll that quickly became my best friend, and my favorite movies were My Best Friend’s Wedding, The Wedding Planner, and Runaway Bride. It’s safe to say I’m a hopeless romantic, and I melt over sappy love stories. As I grew up, my dreams grew with me. I developed a passion for organization, planning, and DIY projects – all of which were used in planning events for my sorority in college. Finally, planning a wedding became a reality for me as I married my best friend and blessing from God.
Our ceremony took place at my childhood church, St. Luke’s UMC. It’s sentimental meaning only added to the beauty of the rustic sanctuary to help make our theme come to life. I am a sucker for full, romantic flowers and loved the beautiful floral work by Whole Foods!
Our reception took place at the Orange County Sportsman’s Club on Lake Sheen. The sunset was perfect!
Check out Glass Slipper Cakery for your wedding cake – not only was each flavor delicious, they even baked us a complimentary replica of the top layer of our cake so we could enjoy it fresh on our first anniversary. Yummy AND helpful – that’s my type of bakery!
Zero Designs created all of the custom stationary for our theme including the invitations, thank you cards, programs, and menu cards.
We love the idea of having a dessert bar, so we wanted to serve our guests homemade pies. Who doesn’t want pie after a delicious turkey dinner? Which brings me to my next favorite subject:
food 🙂
Arthur’s Catering truly made the best meal we could have asked for. I know I might be biased, but it was by far the best food I’ve enjoyed at a wedding! They created a Thanksgiving menu for us, as our wedding was only a week from this beloved Holiday. In my opinion, Thanksgiving food is comfort food, and it felt right to incorporate this special meal into a day we could celebrate with all our family and friends. Arthur’s also rented us our linens, bar services, and wooden folding chairs. These important touches helped the rustic theme stay elegant.
Legacy Seven Studios were amazing to work with and captured our day with images we will treasure for a lifetime. There aren’t enough words to brag on the Sackett’s as photographers (and as an amazing, grace-filled couple who we adore!).
We were able to work with some of the best vendors in central Florida, and have since networked with some of the best in the industry.
One of my lifelong dreams has now come true, and I am honored to be a part of the moments in other people’s lives through Two Peas Events.
